Bwindi Impenetrable National Park also became a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its ecological significance. In East African rain forests we do have is only Bwindi impenetrable national park that is richer in flora or trees and this was due to the fact that this tropical rain forest was once a refugee for species during the glaciation that was taking place in the Pleistocene epoch. The park has more than 220 tree species, more than 50% of Uganda’s tree species and even more than 100 fern species. Where by the brown Mahogany is the most threatened plant species that is found within the park of Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Also, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the most popularly known for its 400 plant species and the most incredible wildlife diversity. It is believed that Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is at least more than 25,000 years old while still existing. Many people ask themselves as to why this park was called Bwindi impenetrable national park. It was because in first early years, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park was very inevigable and very difficult for someone to enter in and have a walk because it was hard to penetrate inside the forest so as to get a path.
Apart from its trees and plant life Bwindi is well known for having mountain gorillas that also make it one of the most visited in Uganda’s national parks It is located in the deep southwestern Uganda in both Kisoro district, Rubanda district and Kanungu district while on the other side Bwindi impenetrable national park acts as a water catchment place that has always supported agricultural practices more especially for the adjacent local communities.
