    Some of the trails on Bwindi guided nature walks

    The Munyanga river trail

    Is an adventurous short walk trail for visitors with little time to spare. Here you can see lots of bird species and primates along the forest edge. The Munyanga waterfall trail gives way to attractive features of the forest, epithetic ferns, orchids, and Bwindi’s colorful and bright array of butterflies. The trail takes you to three delightful crystal-clear waterfalls that typify your impression of a tropical rainforest.

    The Rushurra trail has expansive views across the western rift valley floor. To the west, Congo’s Parc Nationale des Virungas.

    The Muzabajirro trail; offers breathtaking views of Bwindi forest, the western rift valley and the Virunga ranges. On the way, you shall witness a number of pre-historic tree fern species.

    The Ruizi river trail is the longest trail in the park, so it will occupy you for a full day. Because of this, it is highly recommended and preferred for bird watchers.

    River Ivi trail follows an old road through a beautiful forest emerging near Nkuringo section, on the southern edge of the forest. The trail is also highly recommended for birders.

    Cultural or Community Walk

    The local community operates community or cultural walks. These are also guided nature walks that shall help you visit traditional healers, rural homesteads, blacksmiths, and brewers among others.
