Proudly book for this 5 days Uganda primates & wildlife safari tour to encounter the rarest wildlife such as chimpanzees of Kibale forest and mountain gorillas of Bwindi. This is combined with a guided nature walk in the crater lakes area of the park, for an outstanding sightseeing experience.
You will then visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for a savannah game safari experience, that is one of its kind in Africa. Take on a game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile which makes visitors encounter elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, kobs and a variety of bird species.
Thereafter, you will drive through the Ishasha sector; which takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment. If time allows, you will take on a mini game drive through Ishasha sector in search for the tree-climbing lions before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a gorilla trekking safari in Uganda.
5 Days Uganda Primates & Wildlife Safari Itinerary:-
Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park
Our guide shall pick you up from your hotel or place of residence at 07:30 am. So, get ready for a fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park, just below the foothills of Rwenzori mountain ranges. You will also enjoy an afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park and an outstanding cultural visit.
Meals and overnight stay at Kyaninga Lodge/Ndali Lodge (luxury facility) or Primate Lodge/Forest Cottages (mid-range) or Chimps Nest (budget facility). Meal plan: lunch & dinner.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale – Queen Elizabeth
In the morning you will have breakfast being transferred to Kibale park headquarters for a briefing before setting off to the forest in search for the chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms, that makes it interesting.
The walk will reward you with other primates such as the grey-cheeked mangabeys, and colobus, and red-tailed monkeys. After chimpanzee trekking you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an evening two hour boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel. This is a worthwhile opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, kobs, elephants, and warthogs among others. This trip also enables visitor chance to see spectacular water bird species.
Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury facility) or Enganzi Lodge (mid-range) or Wildtrack Safari Lodge (budget facility). Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi
Begin your day with a cup of coffee and an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile. This makes visitors encounter elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda kobs, crater lakes and a variety of bird species. Thereafter, you will drive through the Ishasha sector; which takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment.
If time allows, you will take on a mini game drive in the Ishasha sector to search for the tree-climbing lions, before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (high-end facility) or Sliverback Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (mid-range) or Buhoma Community Bandas (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for your gorilla trekking experience, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.
The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for.
Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorillas – perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla tracking may take between 2 to 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort.. The afternoon is spent on a village walk.
The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The walk begins after a briefing from your guide at your lodge and is most informative, rewarding to the every visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways of life.
Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (high-end facility) or Silverback Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (mid-range) or Buhoma Community Bandas/Wagtail Eco Camp (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5: Bwindi – Kampala/Entebbe
Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch en-route and a stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre to explore the lifestyle of the Ankole and Bahima. Thereafter you will proceed to the Equator crossing line in Uganda before your evening departure back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast & lunch.
