14 Days Uganda Safari & Gorilla Tour Itinerary:-
Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi
Our guide/driver picks you at 7:00 am from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala or Entebbe. You will drive to Mbarara, that is 283 km from Kampala, via Masaka. Make a first stop over at Equator crossing line for snacks and photography.
You will then proceed with a visit to Igongo Cultural Village, for a more rewarding and amazing experience as you visit this Ankole museum. Get your lunch break at Agip Motel Mbarara, and thereafter lunch proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps.
Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Bandas (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast set off early with guides to track the mountain gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek, so you should bring your jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet.
Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different with its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rainforest, so ancient that it survived the last ice age. The park is a recently proclaimed UNESCO World Heritage site, because of being the most biologically diverse areas on earth. This is in addition to its unique and precious flora that sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas. There’s also a substantial population of chimpanzees and other primates. Research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking – Part of 14 Days Uganda Safari & Gorilla Tour
After breakfast, you will go for the second gorilla track, but in another group, returning in the afternoon.
Time permitting, spend the afternoon on a community walking safari to explore the lifestyle of the people living and surrounding the park. You will then return to the lodge exhilarated, to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink.

Day 4: Bwindi – Ishasha, Queen Elizabeth
Begin your day with a cup of African coffee, as you get ready for the drive to Queen Elizabeth north of Bwindi via the Ishasha sector. The drive will take you through the unique western rift valley escarpment and the Ishasha sector southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will take on a mid morning game drive in search of tree-climbing lions.
After lunch, the afternoon is dedicated for relaxation while the evening shall be spent on a sunset game drive for more wildlife and photography.
Overnight stayand dinner at Ishasha Jungle Lodge (mid-range facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth Ishasha – Mweya Side
Get on an early morning guided bush walk for a closer interaction with nature. The mid-morning will be spent on a game drive searching for the tree-climbing lions. You will later drive to Mweya side of Queen Elizabeth, which journey takes about 3 hours but driving through interesting features.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth
Begin your day with a cup of coffee, and an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile. Here, visitors encounter giant African elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, and a variety of bird species. You will then return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch.
After lunch, enjoy a two hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel, which is worthwhile opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, Kobs, elephants, and warthogs among others. This trip also enables visitor a chance to see spectacular water bird species.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth – Part of 14 Days Uganda Safari & Gorilla Tour
With previous day’s memories, you will enjoy your breakfast as you get ready for a guided primates walk along Kyambura Gorge looking for the habituated chimpanzees. Through the gorge you will also enjoy birding because you will be watching a number of beautiful birds swinging around. After primate walk, drive back to Mweya Safari Lodge. Evening relaxation.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth – Kibale
You will then drive to Kibale Forest National Park, the best reserve in Africa to view chimps. The journey takes you through a thick jungle with a towering canopy using Kasese-Fort Portal road. Enjoy the winding scenery of the foothills of Rwenzori mountains before arriving in Fort Portal for lunch. The afternoon is spent on a guided nature walk in the crater lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale – Part of 14 Days Uganda Safari & Gorilla Tour
In the morning you will have breakfast before being transferred to Kibale headquarters for briefing and then set off for a forest walk in search for chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small other organs, making it interesting.
The walk will reward you with other primates like the grey-cheeked mangabeys; colobus, red-tailed, and L’hoest’s monkeys, and a variety of butterflies.
Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Guest House. Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 10: Second Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale
Again after breakfast, the following day, you will have breakfast before being transferred to Kibale headquarters for briefing and then set off for a forest walk in search for chimpanzees. This is the second chimpanzee trekking experience.

Day 11: Kibale – Murchison Falls
Begin the panoramic drive northwards through Hoima verdant countryside passing through traditional homesteads and farms along the Albertine Rift escarpments. After your lunch in Hoima, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park, for an evening sightseeing and relaxation, as you prepare for the following day.

Day 12: Murchison Falls – Part of 14 Days Uganda Safari & Gorilla Tour
After your cup of coffee, you will cross the Nile to the northern side of Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, your guide will help you spot giant African elephants, lions, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, Bohor reedbuck, hyenas and if you are lucky, the leopard too. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile. This shall take you to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En-route, marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles, and elephants, waterbucks and Uganda Kob along this 17 km stretch.
This is also a zone of many bird species, including the goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eaters, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork.
There you leave the boat and start your – quite heavy – hike to the top of the Murchison Falls, in approximately 1 hour. You will see where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment, to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Your driver or guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.

Day 13: Murchison Falls
After your morning breakfast, the following day, you will get ready for a boat trip to the Nile Delta that takes you between 4 – 5 hours. This is one of the most interesting experiences in Murchison Falls National Park because it takes you through the extensive papyrus delta and the Victoria Nile that flows into Lake Albert.
Here again there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare Shoebill. The afternoon is spent relaxing at your Lodge.

Day 14: Murchison Falls – Kampala
Wake up at 6:00 am prepared to take a photograph of the African rising sun in the morning and enjoy African breakfast. Drive back to Kampala with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a canoe ride on a swamp in search for the rare shoebill stork, and picnic lunch. You will later return to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast and lunch.
