Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sits high in the clouds, at an altitude between 2,227m and 4,127m. As its name suggests, it was created to protect the rare mountain gorillas that inhabit its dense forests, that’s why it is also an important habitat for the endangered golden monkeys. While here, you will also have an opportunity for volcano climbing, which includes Mt. Muhabura, Mt. Gahinga and Mt. Sabinyo.

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe – Kampala
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Kampala Forest Cottages (budget facility) for an overnight stay and dinner. Meal plan: dinner.
Day 2: Entebbe – Bwindi
Our guide/driver picks you at 7:00 am from your jotel or place of residence in Kampala. You will drive to Mbarara, that is 283 km from Kampala, via Masaka. Make a first stop over at Equator crossing line for snacks and photography.
Get your lunch break at Agip Motel Mbarara, and thereafter lunch proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps.
Dinner and overnight stay at Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel (budget facility). Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
Day 3: Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking – Part of 5 Days Cheap Gorilla Trekking
Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for your gorilla trekking experience, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.
The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for.
Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on relaxation and sightseeing around your camp.

Day 4 : Volcano Climbing Mgahinga
Today is dedicated for a Volcano hiking experience. This takes around six hours to ascend and descend Mt. Gahinga (3,474m), topped by a swamp-filled crater and giant lobelia. Lucky climbers may spot golden monkeys on their way through the bamboo forest. After this, you will return for overnight stay at Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5 : Kisoro – Entebbe
Today is dedicated for your return transfers from Kisoro to Kampala arriving late evening at Entebbe Airport for your onward flight connection back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast & lunch.
