5 Days Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Safari Itinerary:-
Day 1 : Kampala – Bwindi
Our guide/driver picks you at 7:00 am from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala. You will drive to Mbarara, that is 283 km from Kampala, via Masaka. Make a first stop over at Equator crossing line for snacks and photography.
You will then proceed with a visit to Igongo Cultural Village, for a more rewarding and amazing experience as you visit this Ankole museum. Get your lunch break at Agip Motel Mbarara, and thereafter lunch proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps.
Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (high-end facility) or Silverback Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (mid-range) or Buhoma Community Bandas/Wagtail Eco Camp (budget facility). Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking – Part of 5 Days Gorilla tracking & Wildlife
Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for your gorilla trekking experience, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.
The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for.
Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorillas – perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla tracking may take between 2 to 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you will go for the second gorilla tracking experience, but this time with another group. You will return in the afternoon for relaxation and sightseeing around the lodge.

Day 4: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth
Early morning drive in to Ishasha for a mid morning will be spent on a game drive searching for the tree-climbing lions and other great mammals before proceeding to the Mweya section. The journey takes about 3 hours but driving through interesting features. Get your lunch break at Mweya Safari Lodge.
After lunch, you will take on an afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga channel – one that joins Lakes Edward and George. The boat cruise is a wonderful way to see hippos, buffaloes, kobs, the occasional nile crocodiles and a spectacular bird watching opportunity. Many who experience the launch cruise consider it the highlight of their entire African safari.
Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (high-end) or Enganzi Lodge (mid-range facility) or Simba Safari Camp (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Entebbe Out
Begin your day with a cup of coffee and then an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile. On this drive you will encounter elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, and a variety of bird species. Thereafter, you will drive back to Kampala using Kasese – Fort Portal road via Queen Elizabeth National Park, with an en-route game viewing. If you are lucky, you may spot the more elephants, antelopes and the warthogs.
Don’t miss a stop over at the Equator crossing line in Kasese, while enjoying the winding scenery of the foot hills of Rwenzori mountains before arriving in Fort Portal for lunch. Thereafter, you will continue to Kampala or Entebbe for your outgoing flight back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast & lunch.
